Eco fair – give and take at St John’s
November 23 at 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
We are trying another new venture at St John’s this month and would love as many people as possible to contribute. Jumble Sales. Bring & Buy Sales… yes, they’re fun to have a rummage at but how about one that’s absolutely free? What we’re asking is that you dig out of cupboards and store rooms those things you have no further use for (or never even wanted) and bring them to St John’s Church. They will be displayed in the pews and available for anyone to take home with them free of charge. Ideally we’d be looking at clothes, kitchen utensils, crockery & glassware, books, CDs/DVDs – pretty much anything that you no longer want that you think someone else may like. You can bring anything you have over to the church on Friday 22nd November or from 8am on 23rd. The fair will be open for visitors to browse from 10:00-14:00 and there will be teas & coffees and homemade cakes available. For those that are unable to venture out or can’t make it on the day a collection service is available the week before. Please tell your friends and neighbours and come help to make this an ongoing event for St John’s. The idea is to get our historic building used more and this is a great chance to have a pre-Christmas clear out. There will be a repeat ‘spring clean’ one in March 2020. All items left at the end of the day will be taken to local charity shops or recycled responsibly at Thriplow. If you require collection please call or text 07971 004898 during reasonable hours. Hope to see you there!
