Hinxton Road, Duxford
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC)
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order
pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road
Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which is to stop any
vehicle from proceeding along Hinxton Road, Duxford as lies between points 20m either side of the railway level crossing situated there as measured from its gates or barriers.
Access will be maintained to properties affected by this order.
The alternative route for vehicles is via Chapel Street – Moorfield Road – A505 – A1301 – North End Road, Hinxton – High Street – Duxford Road and vice versa.
The Order is made to facilitate essential maintenance works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 26 January 2020 and continue until these works have finished.
It is anticipated that these works will be carried out overnight between 01:20hrs and 07:30hrs 26 January 2020.
Other events in 2020 are:-
8th March, Cambridge Half Marathon. The popular running event returns, taking in the scenery of central Cambridge. Road closures will be in place for the event, so please bear this in mind if you are planning on visiting Cambridge.
3rd May, Sawston Fun Run returns following its best attended run last year. The 2020 Fun Run will be celebrating the VE Day anniversary, and will be raising money for charity. Road closures and restrictions will be in place throughout the event.
23rd & 24th May, Duxford Air Festival returns for the Battle of Britain. With the event being so popular, the routes around the event location will be busier than normal.
