Re: Soapbox Derby 2017
Wow! What a weekend that was. Whilst we wait for the final amount to be counted and announced on Tuesday 19th September at The Plough, we can all reflect on the hard work, dedication and effort put in by everyone involved.
Organising the Soapbox Derby takes a committed team many months of preparation and time and the whole village sends our sincere gratitude to all those who helped in its planning. However you helped on the day or during the weeks running up to the weekend, thank you so much.
To those who entered the races, congratulations on taking part, wherever you finished in the race! It is not as easy as it may look and to have finished, especially those in fancy dress, deserves a lot of praise, so be proud of yourselves folks!
From myself at The Plough, and no doubt Nick at the John Barleycorn, a massive thank you for coming out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and supporting the events we put on. It means a lot to us both to hear such positive feedback and lovely comments. Well done also to our teams who worked at the pubs pulling pints, cooking bacon or performing for your enjoyment.
That’s it for this year but there’s so much still to come in Duxford this year, so keep your eyes open!
All the best neighbours,
